New Commercial Courts Established in Azerbaijan

News laws on amending the Civil Procedural Code and the Law on Courts and Judges were published in July 2019.

According to the amendments, administrative-economic courts, dealing with the administrative and economic disputes, are divided into administrative courts and commercial Courts.

The newly-established commercial courts will be authorized to hear all commercial disputes and some other disputes affecting entrepreneurial activities. It is expected that the commercial courts and administrative courts will be specialized respectively in commercial matters and administrative disputes, and thus such specialization will increase the quality of justice.
